COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., 27 October 2006. PrecisionWave Corporation has released the latest addition to its family of wireless RF test and measurement equipment with the introduction of its p1411A high-performance RF vector signal generator.

Reportedly the world's first instrument of its kind priced less than $10,000, the p1411A delivers excellent phase noise performance, wide power range, and fast reliable electronic switching. The source includes a spectrum analyzer display and an internal IQ waveform generator, and is available in bench-top or ATE configurations.

Serving the 800 MHz and 1700MHz cellular bands, the p1411A produces high accuracy EDGE, GSM, IS-95, NADC, PHS, WCDMA, and CW signals. User-created IQ waveforms can generate other signal types, specify data content, or create worst-case signal scenarios for development and test of RFICs, sub-assemblies, or completed wireless products.

PrecisionWave's spectrum analyzer display shows the instrument's output without the use of an expensive external spectrum analyzer. This assures constant visibility of the source's output, and can be used to preview waveforms prior to selecting them for output.

A seven-inch TFT display includes a touch panel for easy instrument control without external mouse, stylus, or keyboard, though these may be connected if desired.

LAN programming and control is robust and intuitive, speeding development and maintenance of automated R&D or manufacturing applications within the Microsoft Visual Studio or Microsoft Visual Studio .NET environments. The instrument may also be controlled and monitored from web applications.

Equipped with a stable, low phase noise 10MHz internal frequency reference, the source can accept an external 10MHz reference signal for synchronization with other devices and test equipment.

The precisionWave p1411A is available now and is priced at $9,990.
