ROCHESTER, N.Y., 22 Oct. 2010. Harris Corp., an international communications and information technology company, won a $9 million order from the U.S. Army for Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) high-frequency manpack radios. The Army is acquiring the AN/PRC-150(C) to provide soldiers with long-haul, terrestrial, beyond-line-of-sight tactical communication capabilities.
Deployed by U.S. and NATO forces across the world, the AN/PRC-150(C) is the reportedly the only Type-1 certified HF radio available today. The radio provides continuous coverage in the 1.6 to 60 MHz frequency range, delivering secure voice and data communications, even in harsh conditions.
"Harris is the world leader in high-frequency tactical communications. The AN/PRC-150(C) provides warfighters with critical long-range communications where line-of-sight is not an option," says Brendan O'Connell, president, Department of Defense business, Harris RF Communications.
