AUSTIN, Texas, 12 Jan. 2007. The U.S. DOD has placed a mandate on all suppliers requiring them to utilize an RFID tag on every product. Intelligentz Corporation has released a new software application inside its Pangaea Enterprise Software that helps end users obtain Department of Defense (DOD) compliancy with the recent radio frequency identification (RFID) mandate. The application integrates customers existing Pangaea Enterprise Software and radio frequency identification technology to provide a wide area work flow (WAWF) solution.

WAWF is being used to provide the Advanced Ship Notification (ASN) information to the Base where the product is being shipped. This will prevent RFID tags from becoming useless upon arrival as the receivers will have the shipment contents data before it arrives at the base.

Suppliers can send RFID label printing requests to their Intelligentz Data Center where the request is synchronized to Intelligentz's wide area work flow. Thereafter, an automated Advanced Shipping Notice is created; therefore eliminating any human error in the process. This reduces the capital expenditures usually required to purchase hardware and software, such as RF-enabled printers and other RF devices for the supplier.

"Over the past year, we have talked to thousands of DOD suppliers," says Michael T. Lucas, president and CEO of Intelligentz. "A majority of the small to medium-sized companies have indicated that the capital requirements necessary to become compliant were not justified based on their annual sales to the DOD."

The compliancy solution resolves the dilemma that small to medium-sized suppliers are facing by including a licensed subscription to the Web-enabled Pangaea Enterprise Software, accessed through Intelligentz's Data Center Service, starting at $49 per month.
