EDO Corp. to upgrade radar, defensive suite of B-1B bomber

NEW YORK, 15 April 2007. EDO Corporation has received multi-year awards for upgrades and maintenance to the AN/ALQ-161A defensive suite on the B-1B Lancer. The awards total $16 million and are expected to be completed by December 2008.

NEW YORK, 15 April 2007.EDO Corporation has received multi-year awards for upgrades and maintenance to the AN/ALQ-161A defensive suite on the B-1B Lancer. The awards total $16 million and are expected to be completed by December 2008.

The contract calls for EDO to upgrade the advanced Digital Radar Frequency Memory (DRFM) technique generator, a key component of the defensive suite. Its function is to store threatening signals and then reproduce them in a manner that deceives enemy radars.
