PARIS – Thales Group in Paris is introducing the PANORAMIC lightweight compact night-vision goggle for special forces and specialized units conducting sensitive missions such as counter-terrorism and hostage rescue operations.

PANORAMIC has four light-intensification tubes for wide field-of-view. The PANORAMIC binocular is being evaluated by the French army's technical section and special forces.

The PANORAMIC night-vision goggle provides a field-of-view approaching the capabilities of the human eye to enhance situational awareness in low-light conditions, and enables soldiers to perceive their surroundings without moving their heads.

Small size and weight

PANORAMIC weighs 740 grams, is no wider than the soldier's helmet, and offers a conventional helmet flip-up feature to raise each of the outer tubes independently.

The battery-operate night-vision goggle powers off automatically, and is designed for optimum energy efficiency, with an available external battery pack.

PANORAMIC is compatible with night sights such as the XTRAIM weapon sight, can accommodate future technologies, and includes an optimized maintenance plan.
