Linear stages with nickel plating for cleanliness in medical and similar applications introduced by OES

VAN NUYS, Calif. – Optimal Engineering Systems Inc. (OES) in Van Nuys, Calif., is introducing the AX40-F1VR-ND and the AX40-F1VL-ND stainless steel electroless nickel-plated single-axis linear stages for medical device research and manufacturing, and printed circuits, hard drives, and other components that require high levels of cleanness.

These linear stages have a 40-millimeter by 40-millimeter table and a stroke length of 15-millimeters. These high precision stages feature repeatability of plus-or-minus 2 microns, 2 micron dynamic straightness, 10 micron dynamic parallelism, and 0.5 micron resolution with a 10 micro-step per step micro-stepper driver.

The smooth electroless nickel plating has high wear resistance, resists microbial growth and corrosion, and is compatible with cleaning agents and disinfectants.

Driven by a two-phase stepper motor with end-of-travel limit switches, these linear stages are available with a right or left wiring configuration.

Four M3x0.5*6L threaded mounting holes in the table for fixtures and readily accessible mounting holes in the base enable integration into an application. The load capacity of the linear ball guide linear stages is 22 pounds.

Each stage comes with a plug-and-play, single- or multi-axis motion controller, keypad, joystick and cables. Longer travel strokes are available.
