STERLING Mass., 25 Jan. 2016. Anderson Power Products in Sterling, Mass., is introducing the SBS Mini small DC power connector for unmanned vehicles, emergency equipment, portable power storage and generation, and small-to-mid-kilovolt-ampere UPS systems.

SBS Mini interconnect product securely holds two crimp and poke contacts with sacrificial tips to enable hot swap capabilities on DC circuits. The low resistance contacts accept 20 to 10 AWG wires that measure 0.75 to 4 square millimeters that allow as much as 52 amps of UL rated performance per position. Rugged one-piece housings insulate each contact position for 600-volt capability.

SBS Mini adds additional insulation to the mating interface to protect against accidental exposure to live circuits. Easy-to-grip housings inherit color-coded mechanical keys from the SB connector.

Each key is assigned a unique color for quick foolproof circuit identification. This is of particular importance when distinguishing series from parallel connections, or circuits operating at incompatible voltages.
