CANBERRA, Australia and WASHINGTON, 23 June 2006. Mediaware, a developer of digital video exploitation systems and solutions for the defense and broadcast sectors, has been awarded a contract by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI).

A manufacturer of unmanned aircraft and high-resolution surveillance and radar imaging systems, GA-ASI has selected Mediaware for its world-leading UAV video exploitation capabilities.

Mediaware technology will provide enhanced digital video capture and exploitation capabilities for the Ground Control Station (GCS) for GA-ASI's Predator unmanned aircraft system.

As part of the agreement, Mediaware has been subcontracted to help engineer, develop, and integrate video and data dissemination enhancements for the GCS.

Mediaware will provide the software necessary to combine Predator aircraft positional information and sensor video into a single MPEG-2 Internet-compliant digital video stream that can be exported in real time from the GCS.
