Lockheed Martin selects Photon Dynamics to develop color night-vision camera

SAN JOSE, Calif., 7 Nov. 2007. Lockheed Martin has selected Photon Dynamics Inc.'s subsidiary, Salvador Imaging Inc., to design and manufacture the next generation, night-vision camera system for the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program.

SAN JOSE, Calif., 7 Nov. 2007. Photon Dynamics Inc., a supplier of integrated yield management solutions for the flat-panel display market, announced that Lockheed Martin has selected Photon Dynamics' recently acquired subsidiary, Salvador Imaging Inc., to design and manufacture the next-generation, night-vision camera system for the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) program.

Under the initial contract with Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control (Orlando), the company will develop a night-vision camera capable of providing color, night-vision imagery for FCS unmanned ground vehicle systems. The initial development phase of the contract is valued at approximately $1.7 million with the potential for significant production volume over the next 10 years.
