REMUS 130 unmanned submarine is for data collection and research; offshore oil and gas exploration; search and rescue; and counter-mine operations.

McLEAN, Va. – The Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies segment in McLean, Va., is introducing the REMUS 130 unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) for undersea surveillance and military operations.

The third-generation REMUS 130 is based on the HII REMUS series of UUVs is designed to enhance underwater operations with flexibility, capabilities and features such as a compact two-person-portable design; easy payload integration; operational depths to 100 meters; and battery life as long as 10 hours. REMUS is short for remote environmental monitoring units.

The REMUS 130 offers long service life, modularity, and open-systems architecture. The UUV is for data collection and research; offshore oil and gas exploration; search and rescue; and counter-mine operations.

The REMUS 130 features modern core electronics, navigation, and communications systems with modular, and open architecture interfaces to accommodate wet or dry payloads.
