FARNBOROUGH, England, 15 July 2012. Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal today concluded its week at the 2012 Farnborough International Airshow with announcements of as much as $3.27 billion in firm orders and other commitments for its Q400 NextGen, CRJ, and CSeries aircraft, Bombardier officials say.

Farnborough, this year's largest air show in Europe and perhaps throughout the world, winds up today with the last of three days of public aircraft static displays and flight demonstrations. The show opened last Monday with four days of business-only meetings and deals that saw nearly 800 aircraft sold worth more than $72 billion.

"This air show is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with our stakeholders across the industry," says Guy C. Hachey, president and chief operating officer of Bombardier Aerospace.

Since July 7 -- just prior to the opening of Farnborough, Bombardier announced firm orders and other commitments for as many as 52 aircraft worth as much as $3.27 billion with China Express Airlines, airBaltic, Chorus Aviation, and a yet-undisclosed aircraft buyer.

Bombardier Commercial Aircraft started 2012 with 154 orders, including firm and conditional orders as well as options, from 11 customers, company officials say. During the show, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft also announced that Jazz Aviation enrolled its fleet of Q400 NextGen aircraft in Bombardier's Smart Parts cost-protection program.

Last Wednesday Bombardier confirmed that four Learjet 85 test aircraft are in various stages of fabrication. The Learjet 70 and Learjet 75 aircraft program also is progressing, with the first two flight test aircraft having logged more than 135 flights and 600 test hours.

Bombardier Customer Services also announced the opening of its newest Regional Support Office at Farnborough, England. The office will anchor regional support capabilities for Bombardier business aircraft customers in Europe.
