Rugged Intel Xeon-based embedded computing system for military applications introduced by Kontron

SAN DIEGO – Kontron America Inc. in San Diego is introducing the COBALT 901|400 series rugged small-form-factor embedded computing modules with the Intel 6th Generation Quad-Core Xeon E3-1505L processor for a variety of military applications.

SAN DIEGO – Kontron America Inc. in San Diego is introducing the COBALT 901|400 series rugged small-form-factor embedded computing modules with the Intel 6th Generation Quad-Core Xeon E3-1505L processor for a variety of military applications.

This embedded computing building block is based on Kontron's hardened COM Express-bSL6 COM modules with Intel 6th Generation Quad-Core Xeon E3-1505L processors with a range of power and scalability. It delivers fast, yet power-efficient performance to meet decreasing SWaP demands in today's military systems.

Its integrated Intel HD Graphics provides support for three independent displays with as much as 4K resolution with almost double the performance of earlier Core i7 processors.

This his rugged IP67 sealed, compact system operates in temperatures from -40 to 71 degrees Celsius, and has no ITAR restrictions. It has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, HDMI, USB 3.0 / 2.0, audio, GPIO, and serial ports.

It also has a configurable front panel for modular I/O profile options. It supports as much as 32 gigabytes of DDR4 memory with ECC, 128 gigabytes fixed storage (OS and application) and a RSSD bay option.
