COTS embedded computing I/O card to help save I/O slots introduced by Acromag

WIXOM, Mich. – Acromag in Wixom, Mich., is introducing the XMC730 XMC general-purpose I/O card for commercial off-the shelf (COTS) applications providing an abundance of I/O options to save I/O slots.

WIXOM, Mich. – Acromag in Wixom, Mich., is introducing the XMC730 XMC general-purpose I/O card for commercial off-the shelf (COTS) applications providing an abundance of I/O options to save I/O slots.

The XMC730 performs analog input, analog output, digital I/O, and counter/timer functions. Three models provide front 68-pin SCSI-2 I/O connection or rear P16 and P4 I/O connectors.

These boards are available to host as many as two XMC730 modules on VPX or PCI Express embedded computing systems. A conduction-cooled version also is available.

I/O options includes 16 differential or 32 single-ended analog inputs, eight analog output channels, 16 bidirectional input/output (I/O) channels, and 32-bit multi-function counter/timers.

The DMA transfer support moves data between module memory this frees the CPU from the burden of moving data between Module memory and System memory over the PCI Express bus.

For connectivity with real time software application programs, Acromag offers C libraries for VxWorks, Linux, and Windows DLL Driver software. The libraries provide generic routines, with source code included, to handle reads, writes, interrupts, and other functions.

Demonstration programs enable the developer to exercise the I/O modules quickly before attaching the routines to the application program. This diagnostic tool can save hours of embedded computing troubleshooting and debugging. For more information contact Acromag online at www.acromag.com.
