SAVANNAH, Ga., 30 Nov. 2008. Gulfstream Aerospace in conjunction with Innovative Advantage, has developed a state-of-the-art audio video distribution system (AVDS) that supports the latest audio and video standards for Gulfstream business-jet aircraft.

AVDS improvements include increased bandwidth, better sound quality, less external noise, and greater reliability.

The new system supports all current standard and high-definition video resolutions as well as analog, digital, and multi-channel encoded audio. Additional benefits include noise-immune, fault-tolerant fiber-optic distribution, and dynamic range audio compression. The system adheres to the Gulfstream Cabin-Essential design philosophy. This means most single-point failures will be resolved or mitigated automatically, Gulfstream officials say.

Innovative Advantage, headquartered in Redmond, Wash., specializes in multi-channel, high-bandwidth media networks.

Gulfstream and Innovative Advantage have been developing the system since 2004. It will be standard on the Gulfstream G650, the all-new aircraft announced earlier this year. Beginning in 2009, it will be available as an option on in-production G450 and G550 aircraft and as a retrofit on in-service large-cabin Gulfstream aircraft.
