Next-generation military avionics covered in session at Avionics 2009

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, 18 Feb. 2009. – A discussion on developments in next-generation military avionics highlights the second morning of the Avionics 2009 conference and exhibition. The event will be held March 11 and 12 at the Air Passenger terminal in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, 18 Feb. 2009. – A discussion on developments in next-generation military avionics highlights the second morning of the Avionics 2009 conference and exhibition. The event will be held March 11 and 12 at the Air Passenger terminal in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The "Next-Generation Military Avionics" session begins at 10:30 am on March 12.

Chris Nicholas, supportability and mission Systems team leader, Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) in the United Kingdom will kick off the session with his talk titled "Capability Agility - Novel Technologies & Processes for Military Aircraft Upgrades."

Following Nicholas is Eric Billar, Program Manager SESAR Civil Military Contribution, EUROCONTROL in Belgium with a talk on "Certification of Military Systems for SESAR." He co-authored the paper with Jorge Pereira, head of CNS Concepts and Programs Unit at EUROCONTROL.

The conference theme is "Moving on to New Heights," and content will touch on how designers and system integrators are handling the challenges of next-generation systems and standards for avionics in commercial and defense applications.
