Tim Tuttle of Boeing Commercial Airplanes to keynote Avionics USA 2009
SAN DIEGO, 1 April 2009. – Tim Tuttle of Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Long Beach, Calif., will keynote the conference program at the inaugural Avionics USA conference and exhibition. The event will be held June 1 and 2 at the San Diego Convention Center.
The conference theme is "Driving Innovation and Managing Change," and content will touch on how designers and system integrators are handling the challenges of next-generation systems and standards for commercial and military avionics.
Tuttle's keynote address begins at 8:40 on June 1.
The first conference session – "Future Air Traffic Management" – begins on June 1 at 10:15 am. Key speakers in this session include Pierre Magro, head of avionics product line, Upgrade Services for Airbus in France and Worth Kirkman, avionics integration leader, MITRE Center for Advanced Aviation Systems Development in Arlington Va.
A session on "Runway Incursion" closes off the conference on June 2 at 3:30 pm. Key speakers in this session include JJ Johnson of Boeing in Long Beach, Calif., and Wallace Feerrar, outcome leader for Aviation Safety at Mitre.
Other session topics include electronic flight bags, layered information assurance for avionics systems, certification and standards for future avionics systems, avionics components standards, cost benefit analysis of implementing performance-based navigation, avionics upgrades, obsolescence, and more.

Avionics USA is the first global expansion of the successful Avionics conference and exposition, most recently held last week in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Avionics U.S.A. will be co-located with the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum. Both shows will share an exhibit floor, but have two separate conferences.
