NEVE YARAK, Israel, 19 May 2009. Military motion and aviation power electronics specialist Bental Industries Ltd. in Neve Yarak, Israel, is partnering with small engine producer 3W International in Rodermark, Germany, to produce integrated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engines.

Bental's G032 avionics power starter generator first starts the UAV propulsion system and then provides power to the UAV avionics and the rest of the systems that require a power source, including the battery and other components. Combining these functions can reduce weight and volume, while increasing the platform's endurance and ground safety.

The companies will integrate Bental's G032 starter generator on 3W's 157cc engines for unmanned aerial vehicles, and sell the turnkey power pack military UAV solutions together for a variety of unmanned vehicle systems.

The integrated system is composed of a slim design outer rotor starter/generator, generator control unit, and drive control for the starter mode unit.

Bental builds electrical motion systems from brushless motors and servo actuators via starter generators with permanent magnet technology and controllers to stabilized gimbals with camera systems. 3W international, meanwhile, builds two-stroke engines.
