PHOENIX, Ariz., 24 Feb. 2010. ACSS, an L-3 Communications & Thales company, announced that it became the first avionics supplier to certify Change 7.1 software. Change 7.1 is a functional enhancement for Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS).

ACSS received Technical Standard Order Authorization (TSOA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to TSO C119c for its TCAS 2000 and TCAS II systems.

The Change 7.1 upgrade delivers two important enhancements: reversal logic and new aural alerting for "Adjust Vertical Speed." ACSS's first Change 7.1 installation is for the U.S. Navy's PMA-209 program, which is upgrading all TCAS 2000s in its fleet of aircraft to the enhanced software.

A vendor service bulletin is now available from ACSS. For more information, contact the ACSS sales line at (623) 445-6900 or go to www.acss.com.
