AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, 25 March 2010. SYSGO appointed Phaedrus Systems as its distributor in the United Kingdom. SYSGO made the announcement at the Avionics Europe conference being held in Amsterdam this week.
Phaedrus Systems has developed expertise in the embedded avionics market, especially in key SYSGO sectors - those requiring a high level of reliability, SYSGO officials say.
Phaedrus will be distributing PikeOS, an embedded systems platform where multiple virtual machines can run simultaneously in a secure environment, which is also the first commercial implementation of the SSV (Safe and Secure Virtualization) concept. Also part of the distribution agreement are the other products of SYSGO's port-folio: ELinOS, Industrial Grade Linux, Portable AFDX, the first completely genuine software implementation of AFDX (Avionics Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet) used in civil and military aerospace programs, and the complementary range of board support packages.
"Phaedrus Systems' focus on the safety-critical and high-reliability embedded sector makes it an ideal distribution partner to build business in Britain," says Bruno Privat, European sales director at SYSGO. "The targeted approach means that the customers' requirements can be matched with the right tools for their application development."
"With PikeOS, developers have a route to a small foot-print, multiple personality RTOS," says Chris Hills, founder and chief technology officer of Phaedrus Systems. "We are proud to add SYSGO to our carefully selected portfolio of embedded tools."
