Posted by John McHaleISTANBUL, Turkey 18 May 2010. Pegasus Airlines, a private Turkish Airline, selected Rockwell Collins to provide the dPAVES in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for installation on 31 of its Boeing 737NG aircraft. Deliveries will begin in this year. dPAVES is Rockwell Collins narrow-body IFE solution. At the core of the system is the Broadcast Digital Server (BDS) offering 160 gigabyte storage capability, integrated pre-recorded announcements and music (PRAM) functionality and the embedded 3D Airshow Moving Map -- in a single 4 MCU box. The large storage capability of the BDS allows for multiple play periods of entertainment content, and the server automatically selects the new content when the new play period starts. "With our IFE expertise, and our long-standing relationships with content creators and distributors, we can help Pegasus Airlines differentiate its cabin and provide premium entertainment to its passengers," says Tommy Dodson, vice president and general manager, Cabin Systems for Rockwell Collins. dPAVES features include: a scalable architecture; route specific content; plug and play line replaceable units; Airshow Configuration Editor; and hands-off operation.
