    Eurocopter to provide two EC145s to Turkey

    BERLIN, Germany 9 June 2010. The Turkish State Airport Administration (DHMI), a subsidiary of the Turkish Ministry of Transport, and the Eurocopter Group signed a contract for two EC145 helicopters, at the ILA trade fair in Berlin Germany. The aircrafts are the first of their kind to be delivered to the Turkish government and they are equipped for the deployment of airport security missions and corporate transportation needs. The delivery of the helicopters is scheduled already for the fourth quarter of 2010.

The delivery of the helicopters is scheduled already for the fourth quarter of 2010.Eurocopter's objective is to support the development of the DHMI transport fleet of helicopters for airport safety and radar systems as well as to fulfill the needs of growing corporate transportation missions, company officials say. The development of helicopter capabilities for public safety missions is creating the need for state-of-the-art maintenance, surveillance, and mission-critical transport capabilities.The EC145 is a latest-generation light twin-engine helicopter. It meets mission requirements for in the light-medium segment. The EC145 is able to carry one or two pilots and as many as nine passengers. With a fast cruise speed of 135 knots and an endurance of as long as 3.5 hours, the EC145 is used for search and rescue missions, emergency medical services (EMS), police, and homeland security missions as well as the corporate/VIP transportation market.Currently there are 186 civil EC145s in flight worldwide and 121 of them are especially equipped for EMS, Rescue, and search and rescue purposes. The EC145 is also under delivery to the U.S. Army for its Light Utility Helicopter requirement.
