Air Force aircraft maintenance contract awarded to L-3

MADSION, Wis., 21 Dec 2010. L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) Systems Field Support (SFS) division in Madison, Wis., won an initial $8.6 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Air Education and Training Command (AETC) to provide trainer maintenance and precision measurement and equipment laboratory (PMEL) support. The total value of the contract with options is approximately $53 million over five years.

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) Systems Field Support (SFS) division in Madison, Wis., won an initial $8.6 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Air Education and Training Command (AETC) to provide aircraft trainer maintenance and precision measurement and equipment laboratory (PMEL) support. The total value of the contract with options is approximately $53 million over five years. L-3 will support AETC's 82nd Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, Texas with maintenance and operations support of aircraft trainers, ground instructional training aircraft, civil engineering trainers, PMEL, munitions storage areas, aerospace ground equipment (AGE), and associated support equipment. The L-3 SFS operating unit in Madison, Miss., maintains more than 13,000 training devices and pieces of support equipment there, including A-10, B-52, C-130, C-135, F-15, F-16, H-53, T-38, and RQ-1L aircraft, as well as historical static displays.
