LINCOLN, Mass.,8 March 2011. Avidyne Corp. obtained Technical Standard Order (TSO) and Supplemental Type Certification (STC) of the DFC100 digital flight control system. The DFC100 autopilot is designed for use with Avidyne's Entegra Release 9 Integrated Flight Deck System.
The DFC100 provides the precision and reliability of a dual-source attitude-based flight control system, as well as safety enhancements such as a straight and level mode and full-time flight envelope alerting. This STC grants approval for the installation of the DFC100 in Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft.
Avidyne also received TSO approval for Release 9.2 software, which provides DFC100 compatibility for the Entegra Release 9 system, and adds several other performance benefits.
Avidyne's DFC100 is an attitude-based autopilot with integrated flight computer and control panel that is designed for Entegra Release 9-equipped Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft. The system has all the standard vertical and lateral modes of operation of a turbine-class autopilot system, including Flight Director (FD), Altitude Hold (ALT), Airspeed Hold (IAS), Vertical Speed Hold (VS), Vertical Navigation (VNAV), Heading (HDG), and Navigation (NAV, LOC/GS, LPV, LNAV/VNAV, LNAV+V).
The list price of the DFC100 digital flight computer for Release 9-equipped Cirrus aircraft is $14,990. Entegra Release 9 Gold Packages for the Cirrus SR20 & SR22 start at $59,000.
