Embraer S.A. in São José dos Campos, Brazil, added the SCADE ARINC 661 Solutions, including SCADE Display, to its existing SCADE Suite licenses from Esterel Technologies in Boston. Embraer made the announcement this week at the Avionics & Defence Electronics Europe conference and trade show in Munich, Germany.Embraer S.A. selected the SCADE ARINC 661 Solutions to define processes that will bring more independence and great control when defining cockpit display systems.

The two-day Avionics & Defence Electronics Europe, sponsored by Avionics Intelligence and PennWell, winds up today, with more than a 35 percent increase in attendees from the 2010 show, conference officials say.
The SCADE ARINC 661 Solutions help airframers and developers to create and certify, up to DO-178B Level A, ARINC 661-compliant cockpit display systems and user applications. The SCADE ARINC 661 solutions are built on top of Esterel Technologies' SCADE Suite and SCADE Display.
“The SCADE ARINC 661 Solutions tool will allow us to master procedures that will bring greater control over the development of our ARINC 661-compliant CDS and UAs drive the vendor selection process and validate the final solution,” says Carlos Berto, program manager, R&T Systems and Integration at Embraer.
“Having knowledge of and control over the entire CDS project will drive down costs. This tool will also allow us to create processes that will enable UA development in house for future aircraft, states,” Berto says.
Avionics Conference in its ninth year, and is one of the premiere conferences for avionics and the defense electronics industry in Europe. Next year's show will be 21 and 22 March 2012 in Munich, Germany.
