Avionics suites from Rockwell Collins get STC for Falcon 50EX upgrade

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 23 March 2011. Officials at Rockwell Collins announced that the company's Pro Line 4 avionics can now upgrade to Pro Line 21 on Falcon 50EX business jets.
The Pro Line 4 to Pro Line 21 retrofit for the Falcon 50EX flight deck features four large, configurable 10- by 8-inch liquid crystal displays (LCDs) that includes Rockwell Collins' Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS). With IFIS, pilots will have access to high resolution electronic charts, XM graphical weather, including but not limited to NEXRAD, lightning data, satellite images and winds aloft, and enhanced navigation maps.
The Falcon 50EX Pro Line 21 retrofit also includes an upgrade to Rockwell Collins' flight management system (FMS) for Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) GPS Localizer Performance with Vertical guidance (LPV) approaches.
Pro Line 21 provides operators with accommodation for future technology changes such as ADS-B out and datalink mandates.
The STC for the Pro Line 4 to Pro Line 21 upgrade is available now through Rockwell Collins' network of certified dealers. A similar STC for Falcon 2000 and Falcon 2000EX aircraft will be available in the near future.
