HUNT VALLEY, Md., 11 May 2011.Avionics and electronic warfare (EW) testing systems from AAI Test & Training were selected by Air Force officials at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. The AAI system -- the Joint Service Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST) -- test electronic warfare (EW) and avionics systems for mission readiness.
The contract modifications cover a total of 32 JSECST systems, valued at $11.5 million. These 32 new JSECST systems are intended for the Air Force and Navy, as well as for allied nations via foreign military sales.
AAI's JSECST is utilized by every branch of the U.S. military, and has been designated the standard flight line EW test system of the U.S. Department of Defense. The JSECST is utilized with aircraft platforms including the A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet, E-2 Advanced Hawkeye, E-6 Mercury, CV-22 Osprey, MH-47 Chinook and MH-60 Seahawk, as well as the ALQ-131 and ALQ-184 Self Protection Jammer Pods.
"We have completed 403 JSECST system deliveries since 2003, and those systems maintain the highest customer satisfaction," says Bob Peters, AAI Test & Training senior vice president and general manager. "This customer confidence is reflected in these newest orders for an additional 32 units. The operational utility offered by AAI's JSECST system is recognized not only by the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, and Marine Corps, but also by allied nations that utilize the systems for flight line and laboratory applications."
