New Falcon 2000S business jet announced by Dassault

GENEVA, Switzerland, 19 May 2011. A new business jet -- the Falcon 2000S  -- was released by Dassault Aviation. The new jet is a large cabin model targeted at super mid-sized business operators. Dassault officials say certification should be achieved by the end of next year, with deliveries to follow shortly there after.

Dassault officials say certification should be achieved by the end of next year, with deliveries to follow shortly there after.Features on the Falcon 2000S include redesigned cockpit with the EASy II flight deck, a Pratt & Whitney 308C engine with fewer emissions, inboard slats, high-Mach blended winglets, and a new BMW Group DesignworksUSA interior. The new aircraft will also have a cabin management system (CMS) from Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The new CMS system will enable Blu-ray media on wide-screen monitors as large as 19 inches. It can ascend to 41,000 feet in 19 minutes, reach a mid-cruise altitude of 45,000 feet with a certified ceiling of 47,000 feet. The Falcon 2000S only needs 2,600 feet of runway, or the equivalent length needed for a typical turboprop aircraft at a typical end-of-flight profile.The Falcon 2000S uses an AirCell Axxess II Satcom System, which will be a standard feature in the aircraft. The 2000S is available in a standard floor plan with seating for ten passengers, along with three color and material schemes.
