PHOENIX, 19 May 2011. New Legacy 450/500 business jets from Embraer will use the Ovation Select cabin management system (CMS) for its passengers.
The Honeywell CMS includes an interface for passengers to connect via their BlackBerry or laptop, using their iPad, iPod or iPhone or watching a Blu-ray movie. It also has the 3D high-definition moving map application JetMap HD, which enables passengers to view their flight path from as many as 18 different perspectives with a zoom function.
Honeywell officials say that the CMS should be certified by this summer.
The Ovation Select system has a touch screen interface for passenger control.
Ovation Select has a full digital architecture based on Ethernet, which reduces installation time versus competing systems, company officials say. The system has also undergone testing for electromagnetic interference and other environmental standards.
