London Oxford to install Thales radar system ready for the Olympics

LONDON 20 May 2011. During the Olympics this summer England's London Oxford Airport will be equipped with a new radar system from Thales UK. The Thales solid state STAR 2000 primary radar system consists of a primary and secondary (Mode-S, MSSR) surveillance radar system. NATS officials will manage the program.

Challenges created by large wind turbines are mitigated by the system through enhanced visibility.
