C-17 aircraft training system contract won by L-3 Link

NEW YORK CITY, 27 May 2011. The U.S. Air Force's C-17 Training System (TS) program will be operated by L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link). Under the contract, which could be worth as much as $976 million, L-3 Link will combine the stand-alone C-17 Aircrew Training System (ATS) and Maintenance Training System (MTS) programs under one contract.

NEW YORK CITY, 27 May 2011. The U.S. Air Force's C-17 Training System (TS) program will be operated by L-3 Link Simulation & Training (L-3 Link). Under the contract, which could be worth as much as $976 million, L-3 Link will combine the stand-alone C-17 Aircrew Training System (ATS) and Maintenance Training System (MTS) programs under one contract.
Engineers at L-3 Link will provide training device modifications, program management, concurrency management, courseware development, and instruction between the aircraft platform and training system.
Maintenance training device production and modification will be handled by experts at AAI Corp., which also provided C-17 TS contractor logistics support.
Maintenance instruction will continue to be provided by officials at the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command.
