Pro Line Fusion avionics from Rockwell Collins on Bombardier Global Vision flight deck gets certified by Transport Canada

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa 15 June 2011. Transport Canada (TC) certified the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics system on Global Vision flight deck from Bombardier Aerospace. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are expected to certify the avionics later this year.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are expected to certify the avionics later this year.Rockwell Collins officials announced it that the company obtained the necessary FAA Technical Standard Orders for its avionics suite, which includes synthetic vision technology on a head-up display. The Pro-line suite has four 15-inch diagonal active matrix liquid crystal displays (LCDs), that work with an integrated Head-up Guidance System (HGSTM). Features include Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS); Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV); Controller-Pilot Datalink Communication (CPDLC); Personalized formats of display information; Electronic checklist; maps with graphical flight planning; an integrated cursor control panel; dual electronics charts; and a Future Air Navigation System. Also included is the Rockwell Collins MultiScan Threat Detection system which provides weather displays without clutter to that reduce pilot workload.
