BAE Systems engineers to provide avionics components to Embraer for KC-390 jet

SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, Brazil 27 July 2011. Officials at Embraer Defense and Security chose hardware, embedded software, system design, and integration support from BAE Systems for the KC-390 military transport jet flight control electronics. Under the contract, BAE Systems engineers will provide flight control computers and actuator control electronics for the KC-390.

The system will be developed in Rochester, England, and Johnson City, N.Y. The first flight tests are expected to start in 2014, with jet entering service by the end of 2015.
