A320neo aircraft bought by Lufthansa

BLAGNAC, France 30 July 2011. Officials at Lufthansa have ordered 30 A320neo narrowbody aircraft from Airbus. This contract follows the selection by the Lufthansa Supervisory Board of the A320neo Family in March of this year. The latest order consists of 25 A320neo and five A321neo aircraft, which will be powered by new-generation Pratt & Whitney PW1100G turbofan engines.

Lufthansa Group will have purchased a combined total of 443 Airbus aircraft.The A320neo Family also incorporates large Sharklet wing tip devices, which combined with the new more efficient engines, will deliver as much as 15 percent in fuel savings, Airbus officials say. This will result in about 3,600 tons less CO2 per aircraft, per year.
