GE Aviation Services orders six Embraer 190 passenger jets with options for six more

SÃO JOSÉ DOS CAMPOS, Brazil, 9 Oct. 2011. Aircraft manufacturer Embraer in São José Dos Campos, Brazil, signed a $256.8 million contract with aircraft leasing firm GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) in Stamford, Conn., for six firm orders and six options of the Embraer 190 twin-engine, single aisle, commercial passenger jet with 98 to 106 seats that has a range of 2,200 nautical miles cruising at Mach 0.82. GECAS reserves the right to convert these aircraft to the Embraer 195 configuration. The contract value could double if all options are confirmed. Embraer is scheduled to start delivering the aircraft late next year.

Embraer is scheduled to start delivering the aircraft late next year.This new contract expands on the agreement for two Embraer 190 jets, announced last June during the Paris Air Show, Embraer officials say. GECAS has 93 Embraer E-Jets of all models on lease with 15 airlines around the world, and its portfolio now comes to 101 E-Jets. The Embraer E-Jet family of regional jetliners consists of the E-170 and E-175, and the E-190 and E-195, which have the Honeywell Primus Epic EFIS avionics suite.
