UVALDE, Texas, 30 Jan. 2012. Sierra Industries is launching programs in cooperative technology development with OEM companies, institutional aircraft maintenance contracting, and air charter and management services, as well as maintaining its focus on “the development of innovative solutions for business aviation,” says a spokesperson. The company has evolved from a small, service-oriented fixed-base operator (FBO) into a multifaceted aviation organization.

Sierra Industries is expanding its modification and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities into business aviation aircraft classes beyond the legacy Cessna product lines, while developing performance upgrades for an ever-wider variety of turbine aircraft. Recent additions include cooperative Citation avionics development with Garmin International and performance and avionics modifications for Hawker Beechcraft business jets.

The Skyway Group was created as an “umbrella organization” to better leverage the core functions of the individual member companies, while also streamlining inter-company communication and coordination.

Sierra officials have altered the logo to reflect the firm’s expanding scope from a regional to a global customer base and the addition of new capabilities to Sierra’s core competencies.
