Bell Helicopter 525 Relentless sports Arc Horizon flight deck with Garmin G5000H

DALLAS, 13 Feb. 2012. The new Bell 525 Relentless super-medium helicopter, unveiled by Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE:TXT), during Heli-Expo 2012 in Dallas, features a state-of-the-art flight deck, ARC Horizon, that takes advantage of the Garmin G5000H integrated avionics suite. Larry D. Roberts, senior vice president of Bell Helicopter's Commercial Business characterizes the Horizon flight deck as "one of the most compelling elements of the new Bell 525 Relentless."

The new Bell 525 Relentlesssuper-medium helicopter, unveiled by Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE:TXT), during Heli-Expo 2012 in Dallas, features a state-of-the-art flight deck, ARC Horizon, that takes advantage of the Garmin G5000H integrated avionics suite. Larry D. Roberts, senior vice president of Bell Helicopter's Commercial Business characterizes the ARC Horizon flight deck as "one of the most compelling elements of the new Bell 525 Relentless." The new ARC Horizon flight deck is designed to offer unparalleled crew situational awareness via an integrated, glass flight deck coupled with an advanced fly-by-wire flight control system—intended to enhance safety levels and mission capabilities. The Garmin G5000H integrated avionics suite features high-resolution, wide-aspect-ratio primary flight displays (PFD) and multifunctional displays (MFD), as well as support for multiple display sizes. It is scalable to support a large number of display and touch-screen controller configurations. The landscape-oriented displays have multi-pane capability, enabling pilots to view multiple pages side by side; pilots can simultaneously view primary flight display, maps, charts, checklists and system synoptics, HTAWS, TCAS, flight planning, weather, or video input pages. Fly-by-wire with flight control computers by BAE Systems provide the ability to operate demanding missions in austere environments safely and reliably with decreased pilot workload, says a representative.
