NASA extends aircraft maintenance contract with Computer Sciences Corp.

HOUSTON, 7 March 2012. Computer Sciences Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, won from NASA a three-month contract extension with two three-month options, valued at $46.6 million, to provide aircraft maintenance and modification support. The cost-plus-award-fee contract falls under the Aircraft Maintenance and Modification program, intended to ensure the continuity of services for flight-line, intermediate-, and depot-level maintenance, repairs, modifications, and engineering support on aircraft.
HOUSTON, 7 March 2012. Computer Sciences Corp. of Fort Worth, Texas, won from NASA a three-month contract extension with two three-month options, valued at $46.6 million, to provide aircraft maintenance and modification support. The cost-plus-award-fee contract falls under the Aircraft Maintenance and Modification program, intended to ensure the continuity of services for flight-line, intermediate-, and depot-levelmaintenance, repairs, modifications, and engineering support on aircraft.

Staff at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston; Dryden Flight Research Center in Edwards, Calif.; and Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., operate the supported aircraft, which are used for astronaut crew training and NASA flight research.

The contracted work will be performed at Johnson, Dryden, Langley, and NASA facilities in El Paso, Texas.

The extension started 1 March. The base contract, valued at $162.1 million, began 1 Sept. 2009.
