MUNICH, 21 March 2012. ALT Software and Green Hills Software have joined with DiSTI Corp. to form the new Visual Interface Bundle for Embedded systems (VIBE), a bundle of visual development software tools.

VIBE combines DiSTI’s 3D Human Machine Interface (HMI) design tools, ALT’s advanced 2D and 3D graphics device drivers for embedded systems, and Green Hills’ safety and security certifications for embedded software.

DiSTI’s latest version of GL Studio Embedded will supply developers with the ability to generate code through a consistent and reliable method, eliminating the need for hand coding. Already flying in multiple aircrafts, ALT’s embedded OpenGL graphics drivers are certifiable to DO‐178B and EUROCAE ED‐12B Design Assurance Level A. Green Hills Software contributes the MULTI IDE development tool with sophisticated capabilities that will allow the developer to generate, debug, and optimize code.

“The new VIBE bundle provides the key elements required to develop DO‐178B-certifiable commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) graphics solutions for aerospace applications,” says Dan Joncas, vice president of sales and marketing at ALT Software. “Each element has been certified in numerous aircraft and proven to be reliable high-performance solutions for avionics manufacturers. Since the individual components are pre‐integrated by ALT, Green Hills, and DiSTI, this is a true ‘out of the box’ solution that shortens development time and puts it in the market for use by manufacturers of high reliability systems.”

VIBE is being officially unveiled at the Europe Avionics show in Munich.

Avionics Europe is the platform for discussing new commercial and defense aerospace electronics as market solutions. After the Avionics Show, VIBE will be immediately available for embedded and safety critical projects.
