Aitech unveils rugged COTS computer at Avionics Europe 2012

MUNICH, 22 March 2012. Aitech is demonstrating its off-the-shelf flexible compact computer systems at the Avionics Europe 2012 exhibition in Munich. The A190 RediBuilt Compact Computer System is a rugged COTS computer. Assembled, tested, and qualified, RediBuilt provides an out-of-the-box solution to meet many of today's military and airborne computing requirements, says a spokesperson. Designed using proven Aitech technology, RediBuilt is an integrated product, requiring neither NRE nor any additional development.

The A171 RCP (Rugged Compact PC) delivers all the features of a standard PC in a rugged compact enclosure. Using a high-performance, 2.0-gigahertz Core i7 processor, up to 16 gigabytes of solid-state, on-board storage, and a wide range of PC industry-standard I/O including timing and temperature sensing, this advanced system brings the standard PC operating environment to harsh working environments.

The A175 I/O Expansion Subsystem is a compact and lightweight (<1.2 kg) single-board design that expands an avionics computer’s input/output (I/O) capabilities by adding a large variety of I/O interface options accessible via a MIL-STD-1553B link.

Delivering high performance with very low power consumption, both the A171 and A175 advanced computer products are environmentally sealed in rugged, compact, and lightweight, Faraday cage enclosures. They are passive-air cooled, reliable, and designed for use under extreme environmental conditions.

These products from Aitech are supported by the company’s COTS Lifecycle+ Obsolescence Management services. The company delivers advanced rugged technologies, including DO-254 compliance, vibration and shock resistance, electromagnetic compatibility, etc., for challenging applications. Aitech products are available in conduction- or air-cooled versions and to commercial, rugged, or military specifications.
