Pentastar to open business aviation and avionics repair facility at Waterbury-Oxford Airport, Conn.

WATERFORD, Mich., 3 April 2012. General aviation specialists Pentastar Aviation in Waterford, Mich., and Key Air in Oxford, Conn., are working together to open a Pentastar-operated satellite aircraft repair station at Key Air’s fixed-based operator (FBO) facility at Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Newington, Conn.

WATERFORD, Mich., 3 April 2012.General aviation specialists Pentastar Aviation in Waterford, Mich., and Key Air in Oxford, Conn., are working together to open a Pentastar-operated satellite aircraft repair station at Key Air’s fixed-based operator (FBO) facility at Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Newington, Conn.

Pentastar and Key Air signed a memorandum of understanding to open the Pentastar repair station at Waterbury-Oxford Airport in Western Connecticut near the New York border. The new location will be Pentastar’s first East Coast operation, complementing the company's operations in Waterford, Mich., and Van Nuys, Calif., company officials say.

KeyAir operates the Waterbury/Oxford Airport located between New York and Boston. The airport's runway 18-36 is 5,800 feet long. There is no scheduled commercial airline operating from Waterbury/Oxford Airport, which has five gates and hosts about 50 takeoffs and landings each day.

Aircraft based at Waterbury-Oxford Airport will be offered preferred rates for services at the new Pentastar location as well as at the company's the home base near Detroit. Pentastar and Key Air will announce their plans for opening the new Pentastar-OXC facility later this spring.

Pentastar provides aircraft maintenance and avionics installation and service, including engine changes, wing demates, and vertical stabilizer removals. The company repair station received Airframe Class 3 and 4 Ratings from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2009.

Pentastar provides service for a wide variety of business jets, including the Gulfstream GII, GIIB, GIII, Giv, GIV-SP, GV, G200, G300, G350, G400, G450, G500, G550; Bombardier Challenger CL-601 and CL-604 and Learjet 30, 50 and 60 series; Cessna Citation models 500, 501, 550, 551, 560, 650, 680 and 750; Hawker 700A, 800, and 800XP; Falcon 50, 900 and 2000 series.

Key Air is involved in aircraft management, worldwide jet charter, and FBO services in Oxford, Conn, and near Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn.
