MONTREAL, 14 May 2012.Business jet aircraft specialist Bombardier in Montreal is introducing the Bombardier Flight Deck app for the Apple iPad tablet computer. Bombardier Flight Deck manages documents and enables general aviation jet pilots to carry flight information on the iPad tablet computer.
Bombardier Flight Deck provides an electronic flight manual that receives Bombardier updates automatically of flight manual revisions, including temporary revisions. The system uses encryption to meet requirements for FAA, EASA, and Transport Canada audit trail for paperless cockpit operations.
The application also enables flight departments to manage and distribute their own documentation independently to any Bombardier flight deck enabled iPad in their fleets.
Bombardier test pilots and Bombardier business aircraft technical publications specialists tested and refined the Bombardier Flight Deck over the past year. The iPad app is part of Bombardier's drive to create paperless cockpits.
Bombardier Flight Deck comes via subscription license and will be available to Challenger and Global aircraft operators starting next month, followed by Learjet aircraft operators later in the year.
