SAIC wins Transportation Security Administration contract to provide systems equipment, installation, training, and maintenance for Reduced-Size Explosive Detection Systems

MCLEAN, Va., 25 July 2012. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) (NYSE:SAI) and Reveal Imaging Technologies Inc., an SAIC company, won a prime contract from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to provide systems equipment, installation, training, and maintenance services for the CT-80DR+ Reduced-Size Explosive Detection Systems (RSEDS).

MCLEAN, Va., 25 July 2012. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) (NYSE:SAI) and Reveal Imaging Technologies Inc., an SAIC company, won a prime contract from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to provide systems equipment, installation, training, and maintenance services for the CT-80DR+ Reduced-Size Explosive Detection Systems (RSEDS).

The delivery order, with a three-year base period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $20 million, and was awarded under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a five-year period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $127 million. Work will be performed primarily in Vista, Calif.

RSEDS machines determine if checked luggage contains potential explosive materials, and alerts security officers if such threats are detected. Under the contract, SAIC will provide systems equipment, installation, training, and maintenance services for the CT-80DR+, including: training simulation for initial testing, evaluation, and validation; manufacturing, installation, testing, and training during the implementation period; and maintenance and other support during operation.
