Hawker Beechcraft Global Customer Support (GCS) in Wichita, Kan., is installing the first avionics upgrade in an expected series of factory-backed upgrades for the Hawker 400XPR nine-passenger business jet. Upgrades involve the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics system.

Hawker Beechcraft avionics experts are doing the general aviation business aircraft upgrade at the Hawker Beechcraft service facility in Atlanta. The avionics upgrade is the first component of the 400XPR Program to receive Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification, company officials say.

The Hawker 400XPR is a factory-direct aircraft upgrade program for the Hawker Beechjet 400 series business jets that combine Hawker winglets, FJ44-4A-32 engines, optional Pro Line 21 avionics and additional system enhancements.

The first flight of the Hawker 400XPR engine test article was completed in May with new Williams International FJ44-4A-32 engines.
