BMI Regional selects Commsoft’s OASES for on-going maintenance operations
TIPTREE, England, 24 Aug. 2012. Commsoft, a developer of aviation engineering and maintenance systems, won a three-year contract with bmi Regional, a regional airline in the United Kingdom, for the company’s OASES (Open Aviation Strategic Engineering System).
Officials at bmi Regional elected to license Commsoft’s OASES for 30 concurrent users involved in maintenance operations, rather than transfer to a rival system.
IAG recently acquired bmi Regional from British Midland International. As a result, the airline is in the process of establishing its IT support infrastructure, with plans to go live in the new environment before the end of August.
Commsoft will facilitate the transfer of the current software build and database, as well as provide progressive OASES upgrades, such as new modular developments in Approved Maintenance Program (AMP) revision control, Airworthiness Directive (AD) and Service Bulletin (SB) management, and Line Maintenance Control facilities.
Integration with bmi Regional’s AIMS operations system is likely in 2013.
