Orlando, Fla., 8 Sept. 2012. ASIG, a fixed base operator, announced that low cost carrier Spirit Airlines has selected ASIG as their new aircraft refueling agent at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). FLL is home base to Spirit Airlines and is their largest operation with 49 daily departures. Services commenced September 1st. Spirit Airlines has also chosen ASIG as their handler at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI); a new destination for the carrier. At BWI, ASIG will provide ground handling, passenger services, cabin cleaning, deicing and aircraft refueling. Spirit begins flying from BWI on September 6th.
Earlier in the year ASIG was also selected to provide comprehensive airside services to Spirit at LAX. ASIG has been tailoring a variety of airside services to meet the needs of Spirit as they expand their network across the U.S. ASIG now handles Spirit at 11 U.S. airports, providing several different airside ground support services.
