SR Technics to provide Zurich line maintenance for Emirates Airbus A330, A340, and Boeing 777 commercial aircraft

ZURICH, 30 Sept. 2012. Aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) specialist SR Technics in Zurich has signed a long-term contract with Emirates Airlines in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for airliner line maintenance services out of Zurich airport.

ZURICH, 30 Sept. 2012. Aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) specialist SR Technics in Zurich has signed a long-term contract with Emirates Airlines in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, for airliner line maintenance services out of Zurich airport.

SR Technics will provide line maintenance support for Boeing 777, Airbus A330, and A340 commercial aviation aircraft operated by Emirates. With as many as two aircraft being serviced each day over the next five years, the contract will cover more than 3,500 line maintenance events, SR Technics officials say.

Emirates operates 173 passenger aircraft and 10 cargo aircraft from its primary hub at Dubai International Airport. Of this fleet, 26 are Airbus A330s, 16 are Airbus A340s, and 113 are Boeing 777s. Five of the 777s are in cargo service.

Emirates has 65 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on order, as well as three 777F cargo jets on order. The airline is among the world's largest operators of the 777. widebody twin-engine jet. SR Technics provides technical solutions for airlines worldwide.
