ST. LOUIS, 7 Oct. 2012. Avionics technicians at business aviation specialist Jet Aviation in St. Louis have installed the Honeywell DU-875 Primus Elite flight deck avionics upgrade on a 13-passenger Embraer Legacy 600 business jet.

Jet Aviation technicians performed the upgrade while the aircraft was in the facility for routine maintenance. It is the first time the DU-875 system has been installed in a Legacy 600, company officials say. Jet Aviation installed the system previously in Bombardier Global Express business jet.

Jet Aviation is a business aviation services company that offers fixed-base operator (FBO) services, as well as business jet maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). The company operates from 26 airport facilities throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North and South America.

The liquid crystal display (LCD) DU-875 can show XM weather and paperless charts. The system incorporates an LED backlight and wide-angle visibility. The upgraded system weighs less than previous displays and is more reliable, Jet Aviation officials say.

The Legacy 600 is certified to 41,000-foot altitude, carries 13 passengers with a range of 3,050 nautical miles or eight passengers with a range of 3,450 nautical miles.

The Legacy 600 competes on the upper end of the small to mid-sized range of business jets and is considered a super-midsize aircraft. It competes in the same market class as the Bombardier Challenger series of business jets.

Jet Aviation provides maintenance, completions and refurbishment, engineering, fixed base operations, along with aircraft management, charter services, aircraft sales and personnel services. Jet Aviation's European and U.S. aircraft management and charter divisions jointly operate a fleet of more than 200 aircraft.

Jet Aviation St. Louis is an authorized Embraer service facility and an authorized Honeywell avionics dealer.
