CHARLOTTE, N.C., 6 Nov. 2012. Cessna Aircraft Company officials selected UTC Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), to supply the wheels, brakes, and integrated brake control system for the Citation Longitude, Cessna’s latest business jet and the largest model in the Citation family of aircraft,
UTC Aerospace will deliver an integrated braking system consisting of the main and nose wheels, carbon brakes constructed of proprietary DURACARB carbon heat sink material, a digital brake-by-wire control system, and a tire pressure monitoring system under the Goodrich brand.
The first delivery of the Cessna Citation is planned for late 2017.
“UTC Aerospace Systems currently provides wheel and brake products for 13 ‘in-service’ Cessna Citation programs totaling approximately 6,000 aircraft,” says Jim Wharton, president, Wheels & Brakes.
