Bombardier inks largest business jet order in its history in potential 142-plane deal with VistaJet

MONTREAL, 2 Dec. 2012. Charter business jet company VistaJet of Salzburg, Switzerland, handed Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal the largest business aircraft sale in Bombardier's history this week. Bombardier, the Canadian designer of small passenger and business jets, has signed a deal to provide VistaJet as many as 142 Global business jets at a maximum value of $7.8 billion.

MONTREAL, 2 Dec. 2012. Charter business jet company VistaJet of Salzburg, Switzerland, handed Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal the largest business aircraft sale in Bombardier's history this week.

Bombardier, the general aviation Canadian designer of small passenger and business jets, has signed a deal to provide VistaJet as many as 142 Global business jets at a maximum value of $7.8 billion.

The deal includes firm orders for 56 Global jets and options for a further 86 Global jets. The value of the firm order is $3.1 billion at 2012 list prices. VistaJet is an exclusive operator of Bombardier business aircraft.

The firm order comprises 25 Global 5000, 25 Global 6000, and six Global 8000 jets. Deliveries will begin in 2014. The agreement also includes options for 40 Global 5000, 40 Global 6000 and six Global 8000 jets. "This is a historic order for Bombardier," says Steve Ridolfi, president of Bombardier Business Aircraft.

The order signifies VistaJet's expansion plans. Our customers need to fly point-to-point across the globe, and in many instances at short notice," explains VistaJet Chairman Thomas Flohr.

The Bombardier Global 5000 jet combines transcontinental speed, large cabin, Vision Flight Deck, high-speed Internet, and in-flight entertainment. The jet has a range of 5,200 nautical miles.

The Global 6000 has an optional stand-up shower, Vision Flight Deck, and can link London with Tokyo or London with Mexico City non-stop. The Global 7000 has a four-zone cabin, high-speed cruise of Mach 0.9, seats 10 passengers, and has a range of 7,300 nautical miles. The Global 8000 has a range of 7,900 nautical miles, a top speed of Mach 0.9, and a three-zone cabin.
