WASHINGTON, 6 Dec. 2012. "Negotiations between The Boeing Company and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), IFPTE Local 2001 are being suspended until after the first of the year,” at the request of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, says Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) Director George H. Cohen.
Both parties have agreed to the suggestion. In the interim, Cohen says, FMCS will be in discussions with the parties to schedule resumption of negotiations.
The mission of FMCS, an independent U.S. government agency in Washington, is to preserve and promote labor-management peace and cooperation. FMCS has 10 district offices and 67 field offices providing mediation and conflict resolution services to industry, government agencies, and communities.
